Happy Dad Week!

I may be so unlucky to have my anniversary and birthday on the same day, but somehow I think Jay is more of a trooper because he's a boy and the only two "celebrate Jay" days that occur every year usually fall in the same week: Father's Day and his birthday.  Perhaps I should cut him a break and give him the whole week- he certainly deserves it for being the best husband/dad ever.

Here "he" is opening his Father's Day loot:
Doing one of his favorite activities with one of his favorite girls:

Here's my "amazing" birthday cake.  If only I had amazing photography skills to make it look better than it did.  At least it tasted amazing!

Happy birthday!  So you're finally 26!  May your year be more interesting than your age.  (but not toooo interesting.)

Jay was out of town for 12 days and this is what he missed:

My new haircut!

 The cutest little chef ever:
 Not the most cautious though...
Me making a quilt for Peach's "big girl bed".  Finished photos to come...
Me making a delicious triple chocolate mousse cake for my book club meeting at our house.
Peach trying out her new swimsuit from Nanny in our luxurious pool...

Joint bath time with less mauling than usual:

The coolest train track set-up ever:

Belated Mother's Day

For Mother's Day this year, Jay got me a "mom book".  It's basically a journal where my kids can write whatever they want to me at every mom-appreciation day (Mother's Day, Birthday, Christmas...)  I'm very excited about this new tradition.

I also decided that I want to take a picture of me with each of my children on Mother's Day because I'm almost always behind the camera and so I don't have very many pics of me with them.  Unfortunately, I forgot that I wanted to do this until after my Mother's Day nap, so we postponed it until another Sunday.  It took quite a few tries to get a good one with The Frog...

Here are a my favorites:

I just love those beautiful blue eyes and squishy cheeks!

When I was painting my toenails one day, The Frog wanted his done too.  He calls them "monster toes".

General Cuteness

It occurred to me when The Frog ate this that we had never given him a REAL ice cream cone (aside from those minuscule, free ones from Arctic Circle) until this moment.  I started feeling guilty for being a bad parent until I remembered WHY I never gave hime one before...
I always find Peach like this lately.

She loves standing up next to anything she can pull up to lately.

She's A Fan

Peach is not a big fan of the grass...

But she's a BIG fan of the water!! Her first time swimming!
She's also a fan of whole apples...
as you can see :)

Comparison

I know you're not supposed to compare your kids but...

They're both almost exactly 8 months old in these shots.
