Happy Halloween!

I know that since I live in Provo, Halloween was celebrated yesterday, but that didn't stop me from dressing my kids up this morning again so I could take a couple pictures. My (youngest) older brother throws an amAZing Halloween party every year- this year complete with high voltage and live snakes as decor, just to give you an idea- and I stupidly forgot to BRING MY CAMERA!! Some day, I will stop doing that... Luckily, my other (middle) older brother was assigned by my party-throwing brother to take a bajillion pictures of the event- which he took to heart. Hopefully I will have some to post of the fam in a couple days. But for now, I'll let you guess what Jay and I were. (Hint, we were all in on the theme.)(this is her favorite form of self entertainment lately)

First Snow!!

I woke up this morning to this:Good thing I just finished making this:

Now that I've made one from a pattern, I have a lot of ideas of how I'd like to change it to make it better. Hopefully I can get another one done before I'll be wanting to wear one every day :)

I got these delivered to the house today because it's the 4 year anniversary of when Jay proposed. My man's the best!! :)

Swimming Smiles

Jay took The Frog swimming- a common occurrence around here, but I haven't tagged along since before Peach was born. I can't believe what a good little swimmer he's becoming! He will now jump in from the side and is willing to let go of Jay and doggy paddle around. It's so cute to see his little legs kicking like mad beneath the water. And I especially love how easy it is to get him down for a nap afterwards :)

Fall Day Play

It's been quite gloomy lately, which means optimal photography weather :) I can't believe how vibrant some of these colors look- they're all from my back yard!

I love how bright the green ball looks.

The Frog was "helping" me sort through the apples under our apple tree and he decided to keep one for himself.

Peachy

Thanks to my amazingly generous brother's family, we inherited some amazingly adorable hand-me-downs and it's been particularly fun to get Peach all dressed up for church each week. I wanted to document the cuteness and I managed to get a cute smiling shot.
A couple days later, I put Peach in an adorable outfit from her Nanie, but the photo-shoot ended up with more out-takes than I had hoped. I call this next shot "gasp".

Bumbo and Fam

I wanted to try putting Peach in the bumbo, so she could sit on the counter and watch while I make food. Unfortunately, her head isn't quite strong enough to last more than a minute or so with her head upright. The Frog, of course, needed to take his turn.
The most exciting thing this week, was probably my little sister coming into town and so I had her and the rest of the locals down for dinner. It is so fun having so many boys about the same age to run around together. (and they sure do run around together...) We tried to get a group shot, but it proved quite difficult.

My oldest brother finally got them to kinda sit still by showing them a video on his iPhone.

Large pink bow, pink nails, and captured smile

Though it's already clear that I haven't taken as many photos of Peach as I did The Frog at this by this point, I try to make up for it when it turns out that she's awake when he's asleep and I've taken care of my major household duties. I bought more headbands at target and though I feel the bows are a bit large, I think she'll grow into them fairly soon.
The Frog awoke from his nap after only a few photos (he was in his big boy bed, so he let himself out) and of course wanted to join in on the fun!
I needed to include this next photo to give evidence of The Frog's desire to have his fingernails painted pink, like moms'. I only did one hand, and only after painting one finger to make sure he understood that when I said "don't touch anything until they're dry", he'd follow directions. You can kind of see it on his pointer finger.
Peach smiles often- though more often at objects than at me, such as in this picture below. She loves her mobile, as did The Frog, and smiles frequently when I put her under it. This isn't the biggest smile she can produce, but after hovering with a camera for 10 minutes, it's the best my patience could produce.
I should also mention that Peach "slept through the night" several times this week. (Meaning I got 6 hours of consecutive sleep!!) I think we'll keep her :)

PS happy 10-10-10!!

Kid Conversation

The Frog goes into our TV room.
Jay: (not wanting to have The Frog play in there) "why don't you come out here and play where it's light?"
The Frog: "I sit in the dark."
The Frog closes the door with Jay outside.
Minutes later, Jay opens the door to check on him. Indeed, The Frog is just sitting on the couch.
In the dark.

October Rain

We had a heckuva rainstorm yesterday. I promised The Frog he could play outside after I ran some errands and of course it started raining on our way home. The Frog remembered my promise and so I had to oblige. He loved it!

Kid Conversation

The Frog: "Daddy, get some milk please."
Jay: "I love getting you milk. I love to help you."
(Jay leaves to get milk)
The Frog: "I love poking mommy."
